Your achievement in your life is dependent on the action you take to achieve. Your action is dependent on your goals and how much you believe in your goals. If you believe in your goals you will take action.
I have learnt this goal setting by trial and error. Goal setting, belief level- does it work? My sceptical mind will often pop up this question.
Whenever I would think of doing something big, my own inner self from some corner of my heart and mind will spring up and say, ‘hey buddy, you can’t do this.’ And everything would fade away.
This is a result of self-limiting belief.
Then in my trial and error of setting and achieving goals, I could learn something which completely changed my thought process. I could be able to shade away my self-limiting belief. I want to share with you what I learnt. I believe this can help you to get rid of your self-limiting belief if you have any.
I am now 43 years old, with a full-time day job. I work hard on myself and in my job. Still, I felt I could do more. I have finished the final draft of my book. but while I was writing the book I had many bouts of self-doubt. This was because I thought that I would never be able to write a good book. Why it happened because I wanted instant success. I am a novice when it comes to writing. But whatever book or article I would read about writing was written by a well accomplished writer. And this is quite obvious if you have not done something, how you could qualify to write or say about that particular subject.
Instead of getting inspired, I would lose my heart that I would not be able to write. This was because in my mind it was an instant success, then I realized that I could do one thing at a time. I could not write the entire book in a couple of weeks or even a couple of months. There are writers who have done it. Who can do it? But I could understand I have my own pace and even if I write 500 words in a day. in 4 months I would complete writing 60000 words.
Therefore, I made it a point that I will have big dreams and big goals. There is no harm in thinking big. However, I cannot act big. A small act done daily only will produce big results.
The point I want to put forward is-it is your small neglected or procrastinated act, which limits your belief level. It is the ultimate cause of self-limiting belief. You set a big target in all sphere of life but the time to take action is-NOW.
Every morning when you get up early in the morning, you have the opportunity to take action for your dreams and goals. The action taken today may not bring the result you want but over the period of time, it will certainly bring big results-the results which you will be proud of.
Take action bit by bit and you will soon find your belief level is soaring up and up. You can fill up a bucket of belief by putting little action each day.
