To succeed in your mission, you must have single-minded devotion to your goals.
A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
Once you are clear about your dream, you can make it your goal.
How can you make your dream your goal?
When it comes to goal setting, it should be divided into short term goals and long term goals. There is no such categorization which goals can be short term goals and which can be long term goals. You can keep those goals under short term which can be achieved in one year. Long term goals are your dreams. The goals that you want to achieve 2 years down the line or 5 years, 10 years or 20 years down the line. Goals like owning a beautiful house with beautiful garden having swimming pool, at calm or serene place, plenty of space to play with children and spouse, owning fleet of luxurious cars, owning stud farms, exotic vacation, optimum health, financial freedom, time to pursue recreation activities and hobbies. These are all long term goals.
There are many goals to achieve. But you need to find out your most important goal. Why it is so? Why you must find out your most important goal? It is because it is difficult to concentrate on too many goals at a time. You must find out your most important goals, which is definite purpose. Once you decide your definite purpose, it is easier to focus on that particular goal.
Let me share you my goals. Presently, I have been working on two goals. First, I have been practicing for my marathon run. I will write about marathon in other post. If you are interested or you want to know more about it, you can search in Google. There are numerous good article and information available. I would like to emphasize that Marathon is best thing you can do for your health, it can make you disciplined, boost your self-esteem and many more benefits. An entire book can be written on the benefits of marathon training and its achievement.
My second goal is to write book. These articles which I write and post, is part of that process.
I have started these two goals without having any prior experiences. I had a sedentary life style for more than twenty years. So, running in a marathon is not easy for me. But I firmly believe that I will do it. I had never ever imagined myself as writer. But three months ago I found that this is my true calling. I have started it from very beginning. I am confident that I will achieve both my goals as i am well aware of success principles, and principles of achievement. By applying these principles I will achieve these two goals by the end of this calendar year.
I know if your desire is strong enough and you are focused to your goal single-minded, with no ifs and buts and you take action every day, you will definitely achieve your goals. It is also said once you are ready to do something; you will get help from that corner of the world from where your expectation is least.
Dear Reader, I value your time but if you take out a couple of minutes and give your feedback, it will be a great help not only to me but to the others who will be inspired one day by my story and will make their own.

We all have dreams, some have big and some have small, but all have dreams. Our destiny is determined by what we do with our dreams, whether we go after it to make it true or we don’t follow it blaming the outer circumstances. We Claim that our situations are different from others. We make a hell lot of excuses why we can’t make an effort to live our dreams. There may be many reasons for not living our dreams, and one of the chief reasons is feeling embarrassed for not achieving what we set out and declare to achieve. What people will say if I fail? In our childhood days, we are trained to feel embarrassed about our failure. We heard sentences umpteen times by the time we are grown, ‘all your friends will laugh if you fail.’ ‘Don’t you feel shame on your failure?’ Over a period of time we start believing that failure is embarrassing. And it is natural to feel embarrassed about failures. It becomes so deeply embedded in our subconscious that we fail to realize that with this thought we…
This is the biggest impediment in self-development and growth. God has made every individual well-packed with unique ingredients that are needed to live a dream life and made an impact on this world. But, why it does not happen in real life, in the practical life, in the day to day life? The root cause lies in our belief system. It is our belief system that is posing the biggest hindrance in accomplishing the goals we set for ourselves and living our dream life.In the name of practicality and pragmatic approach we forgo many wonderful opportunities that life gives us. Okay, now it is a well-known fact how our belief system develops? It is developed by the association we are in and the books we read. Yes, there is a great impact from the books, motivational videos, association. But the greatest of all these factors are; what we say to ourselves day in and day out. What we think about ourselves. What we believe what we are capable of doing?Give time to know and be aware of yourself, take …
In the process of achievement, we tend to overlook some of the basic questions. When we make a list of goals-desires/dreams with deadlines-we must keep in mind the order. What do we want to be? What do we want to do? What do we want to have? In one of my classes a student expressed her desire, ‘I want to be a bestselling writer?’ Now, she wants to achieve a goal that tags her as a bestseller writer. The number one the thing she will have to do is to think and feel that she has all the ingredients in her that are required to be a best seller. The process of achievement starts with the thought process. All the changes happen inside first then only outside change will take place. Number two: learn about the bestseller writer, what is their daily routine, what they do daily? How do they develop the habit of writing? Stick to the routine until you achieve your goal. It sounds simple. Isn’t it? Of course, it is simple. You might ask this question, ‘if it is so simple why do most people fail to achi…
